Ministry errors
When the Ministry of the Interior rejects a submission through SES.HOSPEDAJES, RegistroViajero surfaces the message on the registration (state Rejected). Here are the most common errors and how to resolve them.
Errors in guest data
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The DNI support number is invalid | The support number doesn't match the format the Ministry expects. | Review with the guest the number printed on the front of the card, the photo side (three letters and six digits on a DNI). If they gave you six digits with no letters, that's the CAN and it won't work. Position by document in Document types. |
| Date of birth cannot be after the check-in date | The guest's date of birth is later than the registration's check-in date. | Verify the guest's date of birth and the registration's check-in date. |
| Nationality incompatible with document | For example, a DNI with a non-Spanish nationality. | Only Spanish citizens can use DNI. Switch to passport if the nationality is different. |
| Missing support number | Required for DNI, NIE, and the EU registration certificate. | Ask the guest for their document's support number. It's on the front of the DNI and the TIE; on the card-format EU registration certificate, on the back. Detail in Document types. |
| Missing last name 2 | Required for DNI, NIE, and the EU registration certificate. | Ask the guest — most carry it on the document. |
| Duplicate document | That document number was already submitted for the same dates at another property. | Check that you aren't registering the same guest twice for the same stay. If the dates or property genuinely differ, review the document number with the guest. |
Errors in registration data
| Message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Establishment code not valid | The accommodation code is not recognized by the Ministry. | Verify the code in Accommodations → Edit. It must match exactly the code assigned by the Ministry. |
| Invalid credentials | Wrong username, password, or lessor code. | Check Settings → Agency → SES credentials and use Test connection. More detail in Test credentials. |
| Invalid dates | Check-in equal to or after check-out, or past dates outside the deadline. | Check-in must be before check-out and within the Ministry's deadlines. |
| Duplicate batch | The submission was already in the Ministry system. | RegistroViajero recovers it automatically — no action needed. |
Automatic credential verification
RegistroViajero automatically checks each accommodation's SES credentials and alerts you (in-app and by push notification) if the Ministry stops accepting them, so you may find out before any report is ever rejected. In Settings → Agency each credential shows a verification badge: Verified, Rejected by the Ministry, or Not verified. Test connection is still available as an on-demand re-check.
How to fix an error without cancelling
Unlike Sent to Ministry or Confirmed, a registration in Rejected is not locked. To fix:
- Open the errored registration.
- Open the Actions menu and choose Unlock guest editing (more detail in Admin edit-lock override).
- Ask the guest to fix the data (or fix it yourself).
- Validate and resubmit.
No prior Ministry annulment is needed.
Ministry numeric codes
Sometimes the Ministry returns a numeric code alongside the message. The ones RegistroViajero identifies for you:
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 10107 | Invalid credentials: the Ministry rejects the username, password, or lessor code. | Check all three values in Settings → Agency → SES credentials and use Test connection. |
| 10121 | Validation error. When it's because the Ministry already had this same submission, its description includes the original submission's identifier. | Nothing for the repeated-submission case — RegistroViajero recovers the result automatically. Otherwise, fix what the message indicates. |
A credentials error (10107) can also appear when annulling a filing, not just when submitting; in that case the message tells you to check the username and password rather than showing a temporary-outage warning.
Any other code arrives with the Ministry's descriptive message; fix what the message indicates and resubmit.
Other messages you may see
Besides the above, a registration in Rejected may show these messages:
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| We couldn't confirm the status with the Ministry within 7 days. Send the communication again. | The submission went out, but in 7 days we never got a response confirming the result. Either the Ministry didn't finish processing it, or we couldn't reach their platform. | Resubmit the registration. If the Ministry had already received it, RegistroViajero detects this and doesn't duplicate it. |
| One of the declared details isn't in a format the Ministry accepts. Check the guest's document number and document type. | The Ministry rejected the document number on format: it doesn't correspond to the document type declared. | Review the number and the document type with the guest. An EU registration certificate or a TIE card carries the NIE number issued to them in Spain, not the number from their national document. |
| A declared detail isn't in a format the Ministry accepts. Check the guest's record. | The same as above, but on a field other than the document. The Ministry's message, right below it, says which. | Open the registration and fix the field the Ministry's message points at. |
| A detail the Ministry requires is missing. Check the guest's record. | The Ministry requires a field that arrived empty. Its message says which. | Fill in the missing detail and resubmit. |
| The Ministry rejected the whole submission because of a format problem. | The rejection covers the entire communication, not one specific guest. | Send it again. Contact support if it persists. |
| The Ministry returned an unexpected error while processing the submission. | A failure on the Ministry's side, not in your data. | Wait a little and try again. |
The Ministry's original message is always visible
Below the explanation, the registration shows the exact sentence the Ministry returned. It usually names the specific field and value it rejected — that's the most useful detail for fixing it, and the one to copy if you write to support.
Persistent errors
If an error persists after correcting the data, check:
- The SES credentials using Test connection (rules out credential issues).
- That the accommodation's establishment code is the one assigned by the Ministry.
- That the SES.HOSPEDAJES platform is operational (occasional scheduled maintenance).
If the issue continues, contact support. Include the exact code and message returned by the Ministry.
